Unfortunately, I've not had a lot of exposure to poetry. An area of development. Though I have enjoyed Byron when I've read him,.

If you like Byron then you’ll be fine getting into poetry! I definitely recommend Sylvia Plath and Anne Sexton! The best thing to do is get yourself an anthology of poems and start there! I started writing poetry in 2014, and I haven’t looked back since!

Sounds good - I'll try the Norton Poetry Anthology (6th) as a start. Thanks.

If you like Moshfegh, poets to try would be Kim Adonnizio, Frank O’Hara, Allen Ginsberg (HUGELY RECOMMEND), Gregory Corso & Diane Di Prima!
